What does deadbolt installation involve?
A deadbolt is the lock that actually holds a door shut. A good one has a 1-inch throw, a hardened bolt, and a reinforced strike plate fastened with long screws into the frame.
We install new deadbolts, replace worn ones, and add a reinforced strike so the frame does not split when someone kicks the door. Where the keyways allow, the new deadbolt works with the key you already carry.

What is a Grade 1 deadbolt?
The highest residential grade under the ANSI/BHMA standard, tested for strength and cycles. It is what we recommend for exterior doors.
Can you install a deadbolt I bought?
Yes. We will tell you honestly if it is a weak model.
Do you install deadbolts on rowhouse doors?
Yes, including older, thicker doors that need longer hardware.
Single or double cylinder?
Single cylinder (thumb turn inside) is the usual choice for safe exit. Double cylinder needs a key inside and is only for specific situations.
