What does push-to-start smart keys involve?
A smart key (also called a proximity or keyless-go fob) lets you unlock the doors and start the car with a button while the fob stays in your pocket. The car only starts when it recognizes a fob that has been programmed to it.
We have dealer authorization and dealer-level software for most makes, including newer European models, so most smart keys are programmed on site. For the newest models we confirm by VIN on the phone before we come out.

Push-to-start smart keys questions.
Can you program a push-to-start key for a newer car?
Usually, yes. We have dealer authorization and dealer-level software for most makes, including newer European models. We confirm by VIN before we come out.
My smart key stopped working. Is it the battery?
Often it is. Try a fresh coin-cell battery first. If the car still does not see the fob, call and we will test it.
Can you make a smart key if I lost all of them?
Yes, for most makes. We program a new fob to the car and cut the emergency blade.
How do I start the car when the fob battery is dead?
Most cars have a spot on the steering column, console, or start button where you hold the fob to start. Your owner manual shows where.
