Rekeying changes the pins inside the lock so it works with a new key. The lock stays on the door and looks the same; every key cut for the old pins stops working.
It is the standard step after you buy a home, after a tenant moves out, or after keys are lost or stolen. We can also key every exterior door to the same key so you carry one.
